PRACTICE TASK 02: PLANNING A MUSIC VIDEO - STORYBOARD TASK
DEFINITIONS - GOOGLE
Key things to include in my storyboard:
- Shot description, number and duration Write down a short description of what will be in each shot. Give each shot a number and write down how long you want each shot to last. This will help you work out the final film duration.
- Visuals Draw what will happen in each scene. You can be as detailed as you want but line drawings will work just as well. You can also add in photographs. In your image show how you want the shot framed and include any key props in the mise-en-scène.Technical Codes Include the camera shots and angles you will use, as well as a suggestion of how you will edit from one shot to the next. You can use arrows to show any movement of the camera such as zooms or pans.
- Audio Codes Describe any sound that you want to be included in the shot. You need to clearly indicate whether the sound is diegetic or non-diegetic including music, dialogue and sound effects.
- what does diegetic sound mean - diegetic means a sound made from the story world. for example the sound a light saber makes.

Shooting script example
In a shooting script you need to declare shot types and audio types etc. this is where you go into more detail and really clarify what’s occurring in each scene.
I really like this format of shooting script due to the fact that its easy to understand and all the information is concise.
My Storyboard -

My shooting script -
Type used - boxes
The way I displayed my shooting script was like this due to the ease of view, by this I mean it is easy to tell what is going on with each slot.
Research -
One of the best informative sites I used was https://nofilmschool.com/shooting-script-example
On this site they explain very well about the creation of shooting scripts, for example talking about -
Who uses the shooting script?
The director and cinematographer sit with this document and discuss their ideas and shot plan desired for the movie. They line these scripts so that they know what kinds of camera angles and movement they want in each scene. The shooting script is then broken into shots, featuring cinematography jargon such as close-ups, medium shots, and wide shots.
The cast gets sent the pages on script sides so they know what's being shot that day. Those sides are prepared by the production or by the Writers' Production Assistant or Assistant.
All changes to the script should be marked with asterisks and written in revisions mode.
